Biofeedback has been shown to be very effective for migraine headaches. We have completed two research studies on a total of 54 clients, 70% of whom experienced at least a 50% reduction in the frequency of their headaches. After our most recent study completed in April 2008 with 37 additional migraine clients, we determined that 70% (26 clients) achieved at least a 50% reduction in the frequency of their migraines. This is in contrast to the most successful preventive medications where only 50% of patients achieve a 50% reduction in the frequency of their headaches.
We are finding similar results in our clinic with migraine. We use a combination of EEG biofeedback, traditional thermal biofeedback and blood flow (hemoencephalography) biofeedback, all of which are non-invasive and painless. Most of our clients see their headache frequency decreased by 70% or more and the pain severity over 50%. See our research paper by clicking here.
